I'm excited to release This Parade, the first track from my upcoming Curious Material EP!
This one was almost entirely engineered at my studio - Josh Baruch laid down drums and percussion at his place, and Shay Scott did piano, Wurlitzer, Mellotron and organ at his.
This was the first chance to put my room through the full record, mix, master paces and I'm enjoying the end result. Final mix had the drums going into the Neve 33115 line-in, with an extra 5dB at the line for some of that lovely solid-state drive, and four stereo stems summed using the SSL SiX. On the bus insert were the Neve 2264ALBs doing light work for glue, the Pultec EQP500x doing a little low end harnessing and high shelf polish, and I kept the SSL's G-series bus comp engaged to kick in for literally one extra dB during the bridge and add some of the SSL's trademark urgency to that section.
There are five more tracks on this EP that'll be coming out soon. In the meantime, please have a listen and let me know what you think! Lossless 24-bit file is available on Bandcamp or throw me an email and I'll drop you back a link. Enjoy!
